Center-to-Center (C2C) Working Group
The Center-to-Center Working Group (C2C WG) is responsible for the development and maintenance of NTCIP standards develop transportation-related protocols between centers. Centers include traffic management, transit management emergency management, traveler information (ISPs and event sources), airport information, and other related centers. Overall the Center-to-Center Protocol (C2C) is intended to connect transportation management centers in a wide area network to exchange coordination and management data.
To join the NTCIP C2C Working Group, or for questions concerning the status or content of C2C WG projects or standards, please send your request (with email address, name, and company/organization) to: ntcip@nema.org
Active Projects
The C2C Working Group is currently developing a minor revision of NTCIP 2306 v01, Application Profile for XML Message Encoding and Transport in ITS Center-to-Center Communications. The purpose of this project is to reflect lessons learned from implementation of the Transportation Management Dictionary (TMDD), and to clarify existing content.
Published Standards
NTCIP 1104 v01, Center-to-Center Naming Convention Specification
NTCIP 1104 v01 defines the naming service for CORBA for use in center-to-center communications in the transportation domain. NTCIP 1104 v01 may also be referenced by non-CORBA standards in order to define how certain items should be named. NTCIP 1104 v01 lists the requirements for establishing names for management systems and for the objects managed by those systems. Published May 2008.
NTCIP 2304:2002, Application Profile for DATEX-ASN (AP-DATEX)
NTCIP 2304:2002 defines an application profile for communications between management systems. It defines requirements and optional and conditional clauses that are applicable to specific environments for which they are intended. This application profile lists the requirements for a traditional approach for data exchange among systems. Published September 2005.
NTCIP 2306 v01, Application Profile for XML Message Encoding and Transpor
NTCIP 2306 v01 defines an application profile for communications between transportation management systems, using Internet standards based on the Extensible Markup Language (XML). NTCIP 2306 v01 is applicable to communications between any two management subsystems, also called centers, within the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) environment. Published December 2008.
