In August 1998 -- the Joint Committee accepted TS 3.CCTV as a User Comment Draft; in October 1998 it was distributed for comment.

In July 1999 -- the Joint Committee accepted 1205 v01.07 as a Recommended Standard, which was distributed in August 2000.

In 2001 -- AASHTO, ITE, and NEMA balloted and approved the Recommended Standard NTCIP 1205 v01.07. AASHTO approved in February 2001; ITE approved in May 2001; and NEMA approved in July 2001.

In April 2002 -- the printed version of the Joint Standards Publication NTCIP 1205:12001 was available for order. NTCIP 1205:2001 is version v01.08, December 2001. The printed version included updated formating and references.

In August 2004 -- the Joint Committee accepted 1205 Amendment 1 v08 as a User Comment Draft Amendment. Standards Bulletin B0100 issued 1205 A1 in November 2004. Both are available below.

NTCIP 1205 Revision Amendment 1 proposed changes and updates to NTCIP 1205:2001, version 01.08. NTCIP 1205 Amendment 1 proposed:
>> Clarified ambiguities in 1205:2001.
>> Enumerated the PositionReference data element mode choices to clear up an ambiguity with the original choice mechanism.
>> Revised the label parameters. The labelFontType parameter was deprecated and labelFontNumber was added to eliminate the ambiguous definition of the original parameter. The resulting parameter also provides consistency with parameters found in the related CCTV Switching standard. An additional parameter was added to enable or disable labels for display. Other label-related modifications dealt with the addition of parameters to be used to define the source when displaying alarm labels and input labels.
>> Added a series of query parameters for determining position to take advantage of advances in CCTV technology.
>> Added a parameter to allow a discrete input to drive the movement of the device to a preset position.
>> Finally, a parameter was added to allow video signal outputs to be turned off upon entering a zone where privacy is needed.
Overall, issues regarding backwards compatibility were kept to a minimum. The two issues of primary concern are the PositionReference modification and the deprecation of the labelFontType parameter. In both cases, ambiguities in the NTCIP 1205:2001 standard necessitated the changes proposed in Amendment 1. Other modifications found in Amendment 1 do not affect backwards compatibility of NTCIP 1205 Amendment 1 revision with the previous version.

July 2005 -- NEMA is reallocating consultant hours and expects work to continue by the third quarter 2005.
